Image: The School of Computing is proud to announce that one of our faculty members, Dr. Ninghao Liu, has been selected to participate at the Computing Community Consortium (CCC)'s Computing Futures Symposium this week in Washington D.C. The Computing Community Consortium, or CCC, is an organization that brings together computer researchers to shape the future of the computer science field through visionary leadership, collaborative engagement and impactful research initiatives. Dr. Liu's work, Enhancing Cognition and Explainability of Multimodal Foundation Models with Self-Synthesized Data, presents a novel framework to enhance the cognitive reasoning and explainability of Large Multimodal Models (LMMs) by fine-tuning them with self-synthesized data that integrates language-based knowledge and visual understanding, significantly improving performance on specialized knowledge-intensive visual tasks. We would like to congratulate Dr. Liu on the prestigious opportunity he has earned. Type of News/Audience: Research Read More: CCC Computing Futures Symposium
